Surrounded by the beautiful North Georgia mountains, The Full Gospel Original Church of God has been providing salvation for the area’s residents since 1902. The “Little Church In The Valley” was founded by the Reverend Hiram Hawker to offer a place of worship to his family, and other folks following the Bible’s call:
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:19)
In 1941, the state of Georgia made snake handling a felony punishable by death. Like the early Christians of Roman times, the “Little Church In The Valley” continued to practice their faith fearlessly. The righteous were vindicated when the law was repealed in 1968. The testament of faith is an integral part of the altar call in every service, and is practiced publicly at the regular revivals.
As a member of The Full Gospel Original Church of God, you’ll be part of the most Spirit filled church in the area. Services are free form affairs that go wherever the Spirit leads. The congregation is encouraged to participate, whether by dance, glossolalia, or the handling of the serpents. Make plans to feel the Spirit for yourself by attending the next service at The Full Gospel Original Church of God, or watch the service on the weekly broadcast from Channel 66 in Blairsville. Service times and directions are available on our About page.
